Abstract

In the article modern trends of technological development in the XXI century are analyzed. This analysis is based on patent information. The need to stimulate promising areas of science and technology for the subsequent growth of the competitiveness of the economy is noted. The need to identify industries and areas of activity in which innovative developments will become advanced both at the domestic and global levels has been determined. Recommendations on the identification of methods of direct and indirect government influence on intellectual and innovative activity in the country are given.
