Abstract

In the article the author, based on a sociological analysis of scientific publications, considers the impact of digital communications on today's young generation, noting that digitalisation is tightly embedded in human society, imperceptibly replacing interpersonal communication with virtual communication. The author argues that the time of "smart audience" is coming, which chooses what to pay attention to and what to study, arguing that the existing prerequisites for participating in the formation of a new type of education. The author outlines the usefulness of the leading role of the "smart audience" in the formation of a new information environment; at the same time, the author warns about the possible negative consequences of digital permissiveness. The material also focuses on the special role of the teacher in building interpersonal communications, constantly adjusting to the changing realities of the social meaning of the individual. It is emphasised that it is premature to talk about the complete replacement of existing educational technologies with digital ones, even in the medium term.
