Abstract

Internet users spend a lot of time searching for information and, if they cannot find it, burn out. To increase your search speed and avoid burnout, you need to have an information retrieval thinking. Such thinking include principles: to understand the search engines, set the search query in terms, omit stop-words, enrich the search query with synonyms, include terms in the search query that eliminate ambiguity, and know the language of the queries to the search engines. We carry out experiments in an search engine to prove these principles. Not only users, but also programmers should have information retrieval thinking. To do this, programmers must know the capabilities of search engines.
