Various Modes of Using Reference Managers Software in a System of Selective Dissemination of Information

Abstract

A reference managers software is an essential part of the system of selective dissemination of information (the SDI system) which has been being developed by us. At the beginning of working-out, such software provided the whole functionality of the SDI system. Currently, we use reference managers software to work with import bibliographic records from external sources.We are assaying as well the reference managers qua elements of professional social network which maintains the interaction librarian and users of the SDI system. This task turns out unconventional due to certain inertia of Russian scientific community in the domain of inclusion to professional social networks reported by some authors.
