The paper aims to answer the following research questions: What are the opportunities and risks of using ChatGPT for deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) students? How different is the user experience with ChatGPT for DHH students? The study revealed that the use of ChatGPT did not improve the quality of the experiment participants' works, and their author's contribution to the works decreased. The comparison of information search algorithms with traditional search systems and ChatGPT allowed us to identify the risks to quality learning when working with ChatGPT. They include a limited variety of different information sources, a tendency to use generated messages without paraphrasing, and some bot’s flaws such as providing unverified information.
