The Phenomenon of Virtual Ethnic Identity: Areas of Theoretical Conceptualization

Abstract

The article provides a review on modern sociological approaches to the definition of "virtual ethnic identity". Сlassification of th ose is based on the strategies of virtual ethnicity reliance while studying the information society. The author progressively describes the correlation between real and virtual ethnicity, cyber-nationalism and the issue of defining the ethnicity  by members of transnational communities.
