Content of the concept of “digital technologies” applied in the healthcare system

Abstract

Digital technologies have exploded into the healthcare system and are truly revolutionizing it. At the same time, digital innovations have significantly influenced such healthcare services as maintaining electronic medical records, performing robotic surgeries, using machine learning algorithms, etc. However, despite their active implementation in medicine, the definition of the concept of “digital technologies” is not enshrined in Russian legislation. In turn, in regulatory legal acts, the definition of “digital technologies” is actively used along with “information” and “communications” technologies, and among specialists there is no understanding of the difference between them. Along with the current legislation on information and information technologies, there is a need to formulate separate regulations dedicated to digital data and digital technologies.
