Abstract

The article analyzes the process of transformation of the socio-cultural environment in the city's information space, carried out under the influence of modern technologies. It is proposed to consider the loss of identity as the main problem faced by city residents under the influence of growing information expansion, changing traditional social ties and relationships. The specificity of the information space of a northern city is defined as a gradual destruction of the integrity of the perception of its socio-cultural appearance and the active movement of basic communications to a virtual double. As a result, the complex multicultural environment functions poorly, and many conflicts in the real urban space remain unresolved.
