Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of students' ideas (556 respondents) about artificial intelligence, the research method is a free association technique processed using frequency analysis and rank calculation. The results show that students see artificial intelligence as a technical system capable of effectively solving problems due to its speed. The most significant elements of the perception of artificial intelligence are the concepts of mind, manufacturability, help, speed and the future, its artificiality and lack of human qualities. At the same time, students recognize the potential capabilities of AI in the future, but there are concerns about its reliability and safety.
