Abstract

The purpose of this study is to clarify the digital object status according to Heidegger’s fundamental ontology. Consideration is currently being given to the adequacy of the digital entity characterization as a tool that provides Dasein’s being-in-the-world. The article shows that the existence of the digital entity being has features of ready-to-hand and unready-to-hand tools. On the one hand, the digital entity is a tool that provides our concerned being-in-the-world. On the other hand, the digital object is characterized by conspicuousness, obtrusiveness and obstinacy, which can be considered as features of the tool that has lost its readiness-to-hand
