Abstract

Based on the analysis of scientometric indicators of leading scientific legal journals, as well as individual author indicators, it is proved that the placement of articles in reference legal systems is a predictor of their popularity. Having a positive impact on the dissemination of scientific articles of the commentary type, reference legal systems form a distorted idea of the tasks and results of research activities in the field of law and, as a result, negatively affect lawmaking. Separation of theoretical works from comments in reference systems will contribute to the formation of a proper idea of the progress and results of scientific research, improving the results of legislative work.
