The Сonceptualization of the Subject Area ‘Digital Economy’ as the Basis for the Development of Its Terminological Framework

Abstract

The article discusses the essence of the notion ‘digital economy’ in the context of its development from its inception to the present. A conceptual framework and approaches to the interpretation of its elements are presented. The meaning of the terms ‘digitization’, ‘digitalization’ and ‘digital transformation’ that are key to understanding the substance of the digital economy is clarified. The problems and prospects of the digital economy terminological apparatus are discussed.
