Social and Economic Well-Being of the Modern Information Society

Abstract

The article reveals characteristics of the essence and factors of social and economic well-being of a person in the information society. Information competence of elderly people has been examined based on Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) data and findings of the sociological study held in Tomsk Region. Interconnection of information competence of population and well-being level has been discovered. It has been proven that high level of information competence is directly related with high level of economic and social wellbeing of elderly people in this region.
