Digital economy infrastructure development in the North Caucasus Federal District: status and prospects

Abstract

The modern world is rapidly moving towards the digital economy and digital environment. Digital technologies are becoming the main tools for the accumulation and storage of information and data, on which decisions are made at various levels. The effective functioning of the digital economy is closely linked to the information (digital) infrastructure, which is becoming an mechanism for creating a favourable digital environment. The infrastructure of the digital economy in the regions is in its infancy. To make this process productive, each region needs to know what infrastructure consists of, what are its features, and how to use them. Development programs elaborated and adopted in the regions should play an important role in dealing with these issues.
