Open access scientific publications repositories: history and development prospects

Abstract

The work is devoted to the study of the history of practical experience and the development of theoretical views of native and foreign scientists on the problem of creating repositories that provide open access (OA) to scientific information. Despite the fact that the movement for open access to scientific research results emerged abroad at the end of the 20th century, the study of the problem of the wide availability and openness of scientific information is still quite relevant today. The purpose of the work is to study and describe the repositories creating process from the moment of their appearance to the present in the framework of the development of the OA concept.
