Experimental legal regulation is becoming one of the key tools for ensuring digital transformation. At the same time, in the Russian science of public administration and law, the question of how experiments and experimental legal regimes are able to ensure the achievement of digital maturity has not yet been resolved, how to assess their effectiveness and efficiency. The article examines and assesses the current state of the assessment of the effectiveness and efficiency of experiments and experimental legal regimes. Recommendations are proposed for the development of such an assessment and ensuring its systematic connection with the rule-making process. The article was written on the basis of the RANEPA state assignment research programme.
