An analysis of support measures for young researchers in the conditions of digital transformation of science

Abstract

The paper substantiates the importance of involving young specialists in scientific activities in the conditions of digital transformation of science. This issue is considered on the example of agricultural science. The main barriers for involving promising young specialists in research work are highlighted. An analysis of measures aimed at calling interest of young people to research activities and ensuring financial support for young researchers is carried out. On the basis of the conducted analysis and the data of the Russian Federal State Statistics Service on the growth patterns of the proportion of researchers under the age of 39 from 2010 to 2019, the authors came to the conclusion that the undertaken measures ensure steady growth of this proportion – on average, 1% per year, but cannot provide a considerable increase. In the conclusion the recommendations of the reinforcement of measures aimed at financial and social support are provided.
