The role of mass media in the popularization of natural sciences in education

Modern society faces important social, economic, scientific and other challenges. However, to solve them, we need qualified specialists, in which there is an acute shortage in Russia. The mass media, as one of the main tools for influencing society, play a key role in popularizing certain areas of education and thereby contribute to increasing the number of qualified specialists in various fields. The article examines the relationship between the number of publications in the media on the topic of technical education and the growing interest in natural science areas of study among university applicants of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania in 2014-2019.
