Abstract

The article analyzes the possibilities of the psychological theory of activity as a theoretical basis for the development and effective use of VR simulators in vocational training. Based on the results of a review of pedagogical theories used in the development of virtual educational applications, as well as an analysis of the main provisions of the theory of activity and its application to vocational training, a conclusion is made about the untapped potential of the activity approach. The most promising provisions of the theory are the provisions on educational activity as a system of educational tasks and the provisions on the orienting basis of activity. The development of an activity approach to vocational education can be the development of a classification of typical educational and professional tasks for modeling on virtual simulators, as well as the development of instructive content, taking into account the creation of a complete and generalized orienting basis for actions.
