The article shows how the professional digital competencies of undergraduates’ students correlate with the territorial inequality. Empirical base of the article was the data of the research project "The Birth of the Russian Master's Degree". Authors built two indexes: index of the digital competency’s self-estimation and the expectations index. The last one showed if the Masters’ students expected digital competencies developing while they were learning at their master program. In all analyzed federal districts, undergraduates consider such digital competencies as information security and the ability to work with data (including big data analysis). They did not expect the master's program helped them into professional digital skills development.
