The digitalization of museums: challenges, successes, and prospects

(on the materials of sociological research)

Abstract

The article focuses on the digitalization of museums. We analyze what employees think about digitalization, what difficulties they face, and what successes they achieve. In addition, the possibility of digitalizing museum activities is discussed, provided there is a first stage - digitizing museum objects. For the further development of informatization processes, the authors stress the need to involve partners from the related fields (education, IT) in the exposition, exhibition, cultural and educational activities of the museum.
