Schools of Internet professions as a resource of professionalisation in a digital society

New technological paradigm and the platform economy are generating an increase in demand for “digital workers”. Formal education does not prepare for popular Internet-based jobs. In this regard, the number of providers in non-formal education, including schools of Internet professions, is growing. They are becoming a powerful resource for professionalization, offer practical training and facilitate access to the labor market. The survey (N=368) and interviews (N=37) with the student youth have revealed the benefits and limitations of training in Internet professions schools. The influence of external and internal factors on individual vocational and learning paths has been shown. The article outlines the top 10 Internet-based jobs, labour functions and necessary skills. Three strategies for mastering these professions are identified.
