Abstract

This paper investigates the world experience of using urban metaverse projects. It examines multifunctional platforms in Dubai and Seoul, digital twins of Orlando, Shanghai, European cities, Singapore and Moscow, and the ecosystem of the Matryoshka Renaissance virtual city. It is shown that most projects are implemented in the format of immersive communication platforms, government service platforms, and digital twins of urban space and attractions. The study proposes models for the further development of city metaverses using the example of Moscow in line with global technological trends, current goals of state and municipal government, as well as economic benefits from the implementation of large-scale digitalization projects.
