Abstract

In this paper, the author has attempted to summarize the available results of the study of the phenomenon of virtual reality, to identify the problems and contradictions faced by researchers. In the course of our research, we come to the conclusion that virtual reality is an information phenomenon, i.e. a way of existence of various types of information outside of interaction. The information concept of virtual reality complements and clarifies existing approaches to the interpretation of this phenomenon. The attributive concept of information, which is justified today, allows us to talk about its existence at all levels of the universe in two states, active (in interaction) and virtual (out of interaction).
