Abstract

This article examines the factors contributing to overtime work in the Russian game industry, based on a quantitative survey of 157 professionals. The findings indicate that overtime is influenced not only by employees’ intrinsic motivation but also by organizational working conditions. The most significant factor is pressure on performance, whereas perceived control over time is associated with a reduction in both the frequency and duration of overtime. The study did not confirm the hypothesized relationship between overtime and project creativity. The practical implications of the research include opportunities to reduce overtime by enhancing time management skills, implementing employee training and development programs, and identifying latent pressure through regular employee surveys.
