Abstract

The article considers the concept of social inequality (digital divide concept) developed by the Dutch sociologist Jan van Dijk. The digital divide (or digital barrier) in modern science is defined. The features and elements of Jan van Dijk’s concept are revealed. The possibilities and limitations of the presented concept related to studying digital inequality in modern Russian society are analyzed.
