Abstract

The purpose of article is to explore the features of media literacy of Russian rural population on the basis of data collected in 5 field trips to the countryside in 2012-2018 (Kostroma region, Rostov region, Republic of Tatarstan, Irkutsk region, Tambov region). Based on 199 in-depth interviews, the authors examine how villagers use information sources, build relationships in the media and creatively use the media.
