Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Manuscript designed according to the template in doc or docx format
Letter of consent to publish the article under the Creative Commons license
The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Dear authors of “Information Society” Journal!

Editorial board of the Journal would like to thank you for cooperation and is waiting for new materials from you. To maximize efficiency of our cooperation, please follow the requirements stated below.

The submitted materials must be original, without having published previously in any other printed media. If the materials are of extreme interest for the Journal, they may be reprinted from other printed media on the exceptional basis, as agreed with respective right holders.

When writing the article, please take into account the Journal profile and adopt content and form of the article to one of the Topics of discussion.

The amount of text should not exceed 0.5 author's sheet (20 thousand characters with spaces).

The materials are published free of charge. In this regard, the editorial office does not provide services for editing and proofreading texts, translating the necessary materials into English and transliterating the list of references. The authors themselves are responsible for this.

Each article is sent for peer review, based on the results of which a decision is made on its acceptance for publication or rejection. The editorial board informs the author only about the decision regarding the publication. In case of refusal to publish, the editorial board does not enter into theoretical discussions. Based on the results of the review, the editorial board can formulate recommendations for revising or correcting the article.

Requirements to execution of materials

The text of the manuscript is drawn up according to a given template. First, you need to download the template and then sequentially insert article elements into it using only the recommended styles.

The title of the article is printed in the center of the page with the font option "All Caps" (style "Article Title").

After the title of the article, information about the member of the editorial board of the journal who recommended the article for publication is placed. This information is filled not by the author, but by the editorial board, if the article is accepted for publication.

Then the surname, name and patronymic of the first author are indicated in the font (style "Author of the article")

The next line indicates the academic degree and academic title of the author (style "Degree, title").

Then the full official name of the organization represented by the author is given. Further, separated by commas, if necessary, the name of the department, department, etc. Then, also separated by commas, if necessary, the name of the department, department, laboratory, etc. is given. within a structural unit ("Author's affiliation" style). Further, the position of the author is given, separated by commas.

It is allowed to use the names of several organizations with which the author is affiliated. This inserts the corresponding number of rows into the table with information about the author.

You must also specify the author's location in the format - city, country ("Location" style). If the author is affiliated with organizations located in different locations, the location is indicated after each affiliation.

The next line contains the author's e-mail address ("Author's address" style).

Below, in the same format, information about the second, third and subsequent authors is entered. As a rule, authors are listed in alphabetical order, but the authors themselves decide on the order in which authors are listed.

After the title of the article, information about the authors, their affiliations and addresses, no dots are put at the end of the lines.

Then an abstract is given, reflecting the main content of the work. The size of the abstract is no more than 750 characters, the "Abstract text" style is used for formatting. It is undesirable to include formulas, special characters and references to literature in the annotation.

Further, separated by semicolons, the article keywords (at least three keywords and phrases) reflecting the topic of the work are given. The style "Keywords list" is used for formatting. It is undesirable to include formulas and special characters in keywords.

After the keywords is the text of the article, which should contain an introduction, main part, conclusion and bibliography. If necessary, the section "Acknowledgments" is included in the article before the "References" section, which contains expressions of gratitude to other researchers and organizations, as well as sponsors and grant organizations with links to grants, etc. (drawn using the "Normal" style).

The sections "Introduction", "Conclusion", "Acknowledgments"and "References" are not numbered. In the main part, you can enter headings of various levels. It is recommended to have no more than three levels of headings, however, if necessary, authors can enter more levels.

Non-compliance of the submitted materials with the described requirements may become the basis for rejection of the article.

Starting with 2020, publications in the Information Society journal are available in the public domain under the Creative Commons Attribution - NonCommercial - ShareAlike 4.0 International; CC BY-NC- International License for Attribution - Non-Commercial Use - On the Same Terms SA 4.0).

In accordance with Creative Commons, authors retain the copyright for their articles. CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license permits unrestricted use, distribution and reproduction of publication materials in any medium and in any format, provided the author and source of the publication are indicated, a link to the Creative Commons license is included, and it is indicated whether any changes have been made. In this case, the publication materials cannot be used for commercial purposes. If the materials are processed or transformed, or taken as the basis for a derivative work, then the converted portions of the material must be distributed under the same license under which the original is distributed.

To publish in our journal, authors need to fill out and sign a letter of consent to publish in the public domain under the above Creative Commons license. An electronic copy of this letter of consent must be uploaded to the platform along with the article.

Previously, articles of the Information Society journal were published under a different license. Users can request permission to use works for commercial purposes or to create derivative works by sending an email to infosoc@iis.ru

The Information Society journal is produced and hosted by the Institute of the Information Society.
