You are on the website of the scientific and analytical journal "Information Society" dedicated to the development of the information society and knowledge economy in Russia.

The journal’s materials are aimed at forming the Russian community of scientists, experts, decision makers and practitioners who are focused on the issues of using ICTs  for socio-economic development.

Our journal was founded in 1989 and until 1996 was called the Bulletin of the Russian Society of Informatics and Computer Engineering. Since 1999, the journal has been published by independent organizations: the Institute of the Information Society and the Russian Engineering Academy (registration certificate No. 015766).

The journal's audience includes decision makers in the use of digital technologies in public administration at the national and regional levels, in the social sphere, in business, in production, in the media; a wide range of specialists in the field of creating and using digital technologies; scientists and researchers; workers in the fields of education and culture; individuals interested in the development of the modern information society and knowledge economy.

Since February 2010, the journal is included in the list of periodicals recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for publishing master's and doctoral dissertation research materials in several research disciplines. Since 2015, the journal has been part of the Russian Science Citation Index on the Web of Science platform. The journal is also included in the core of the Russian Science Citation Index. Accordingly, the materials published in it undergo a peer-review and expert selection procedure.

Since 2020, the journal has been published in electronic form, but a printed version can be provided upon individual request. All issues of the journal, starting from No. 1 for 2015, are posted on this site (see the "Archives" section).
